LAVS XXV takes Filippo Sorcinelli’s first fragrance back to its source
For some perfume houses, one scent becomes more than a bestseller: it is the point from which the brand’s entire language grew. LAVS XXV invites a fresh look at just such an origin point for Filippo Sorcinelli.

The new LAVS XXV listing appeared at Italian retailer Spezieri on 28 October 2026. The product page identifies it as a 100 ml extrait de parfum, priced at €260 and available from 28 October. For now, that is all that can be stated with confidence about the release itself: no public technical description, note list or sales territories have been found.
Yet the name LAVS has long meant more to Sorcinelli than a single bottle. It is the name of L’Atelier Vesti Sacre, the liturgical-vestment atelier he founded in 2001. The brand’s official history connects it with the birth of the first fragrance in the UNUM collection in 2014.
The original LAVS is described by the house as an ‘incense of incenses’ and its bestseller. Rather than using a conventional pyramid, the brand structures the composition as a musical work, with a subject, counter-subject and coda. This arrangement includes black pepper, cardamom, jasmine, elemi, labdanum, clove, coriander, opoponax, oakmoss, amber and tonka bean.
That context matters when reading LAVS XXV without speculation. The new release has not yet been confirmed as a reformulation, limited edition or new interpretation of the original fragrance. Its return to the LAVS name does, however, draw attention to a rare case in independent perfumery: a debut work remains the living centre of an authorial world in which music, craft and scent continue to develop side by side.
For the professional fragrance scene, the release is most interesting for its choice of starting point. Rather than introducing another detached theme, Sorcinelli turns the focus back to the atelier from which the perfume house grew. It will be possible to discuss how LAVS XXV differs from the original LAVS once official materials are published or the fragrance appears at confirmed retailers.

FreshCannabis SantalCannabis Santal begins with ripe plum lit by bergamot and orange. Patchouli and cannabis then introduce an aromatic, earthy green tension, with rose set quietly within the heart. Dark chocolate, vanilla, vetiver and musk deepen the composition into something warm, woody and softly sweet, giving the fragrance a distinctive masculine character.
