ScentFest SF sets its second date — what the San Francisco festival is bringing together
ScentFest SF will return on 4–6 June 2027. For the West Coast, it is an effort to establish not a one-off fair, but a regular meeting place for people who create, study and collect fragrance.

A perfume festival faces a difficult task: it must offer a reason to come not only to shop, but also to join conversations that do not fit within the confines of a stand. Created by Sebastian Jara, ScentFest SF is betting on precisely this role and has already announced the dates of its second edition: 4–6 June 2027.
The first ScentFest SF took place in San Francisco in summer 2026. Its programme brought together fragrance brands, perfume creators, distributors and an engaged public; announced participants included the Osmothèque, with a selection of historic compositions rarely accessible to a wider audience. That combination matters in itself: it brings commerce, craft and perfume memory into a single space.
Jara is known as the founder of ThePerfumeGuy, and the festival follows the logic of the independent fragrance world: here, scent becomes not only a product, but also an occasion to encounter brands, creators and their context in person. For collectors, it is a chance to see a circle of new names take shape; for perfumers, an opportunity to speak with an audience beyond a conventional advertising campaign.
The announcement of a second date is a cautious but meaningful gesture of continuity. One successful weekend is not enough to create a cultural institution, but repetition allows a format to find its own rhythm: participants know when to plan their trip, while visitors develop a reason to return—not to a chance display, but to an annual conversation.
ScentFest SF need not be presented as a replacement for established international salons. Its value lies in the local perspective of San Francisco and the West Coast, where professional and enthusiast fragrance communities gain a dedicated point of connection. The more consistently the festival develops that role, the clearer its distinction from an ordinary trade show will become.
For now, the essential detail is clear: the calendar offers a concrete reason to watch a young project become a tradition. In June 2027, ScentFest SF will again test whether a festival can be a place people visit not only for new bottles, but for a more attentive conversation about perfume.
