The American brand Commodity has joined the assortment of Japanese retailer NOSE SHOP. Alongside six Eau de Parfum releases, shoppers can choose a set that introduces the full range without committing to a bottle.

Commodity выходит в Японию с шестью ароматами и пробниками в NOSE SHOP

A niche brand is often discovered through one successful fragrance, but Commodity’s new Japanese launch takes a different approach: it offers a view of the collection as a whole from the outset. NOSE SHOP has begun selling six Eau de Parfum fragrances from the American digital-native brand Commodity, along with a discovery set.

Full bottles are available in 30 ml and 100 ml formats, priced at ¥15,400 and ¥29,700 respectively. For an initial introduction, the Perfume Kit contains six 2 ml miniatures and costs ¥7,700.

That is a meaningful part of the launch. The set does not replace trying a fragrance on skin, but it gives wearers time to compare the compositions in different settings rather than choosing blind from a description. For a brand entering a new market through a specialist retailer, this format makes it possible to show its range rather than a single signature scent.

At the time of the announcement, Commodity is available at NOSE SHOP stores in Ikebukuro, Osaka, ONE FUKUOKA and Sapporo, as well as through the retailer’s online store. The news therefore matters primarily to shoppers in Japan, who now have a local way to explore the brand and buy full-size bottles.

The launch also highlights NOSE SHOP’s role in introducing niche houses to the Japanese market. In this case, the retailer is presenting Commodity through a six-fragrance selection and discovery samples, leaving customers free to begin with a smaller format.
