Iberchem’s NUBIRAWAVE connects fragrance development with a digital palette

Iberchem has introduced NUBIRAWAVE, a digital palette for developing fragrances with a defined evolution over time. When required, the platform can also account for an intended emotional effect.

A perfumer works with more than the way a formula smells in its first minute. What matters is what follows: which facets come forward, how the composition gains dimension, and whether it retains its recognisable gesture. Iberchem places this part of the work at the centre of its new NUBIRAWAVE platform.

The company describes NUBIRAWAVE as a smart digital palette. It is intended to help create made-to-measure fragrances and design what it calls blooming performance: the development of a composition over time, as the scent gradually reveals new facets.

Another capability concerns an emotional profile. Iberchem says that, when needed, NUBIRAWAVE can support work on a fragrance intended to evoke a particular emotional effect. That does not mean the technology promises the same experience to everyone: the perception of scent still depends on context and personal experience.

For the industry, the important point is the shift in approach. Here, a digital tool becomes part of a formula’s concept rather than simply an ingredient catalogue, alongside its evolution and the task the fragrance is meant to fulfil for a brand.

For now, NUBIRAWAVE remains a professional development tool, not a service for choosing finished perfumes. Shoppers will not encounter the platform directly in store, but its logic may shape future launches: in how a brand defines a fragrance’s character and how a composition unfolds from its first impression to its final trail.
