Vyrao Joins Tresalis, With Yasmin Sewell Still Steering the Brand
Wellbeing fragrance brand Vyrao has a new majority owner, but its founder Yasmin Sewell is not stepping away. As part of Tresalis, she will continue to shape the brand’s creative and strategic direction.

When an independent fragrance brand changes hands, one question usually comes first: will it keep its voice? In Vyrao’s case, the early signs are encouraging. Founder Yasmin Sewell remains not only the face of the brand, but also its Chief Brand Officer and a shareholder.
Tresalis, a recently formed health and beauty platform, has acquired a majority stake in Vyrao. Sewell and the brand’s existing investors, Elevate Beauty and Manzanita Capital, retain minority stakes. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
That distinction matters for Vyrao. The brand was built not around another fragrance pyramid, but around the idea of scent as part of a personal state of mind; its range includes perfumes, candles and incense. Keeping Sewell in a role that combines creative and strategic leadership suggests that the brand’s particular tone need not dissolve into a corporate structure.
Tresalis describes itself as a platform for acquiring and developing consumer brands at the intersection of health, wellness, beauty and evidence-based efficacy. Vyrao is its first acquisition. For a young brand, this could bring resources for international growth and expansion beyond the familiar fragrance shelf; for the new platform, it offers a recognisable example of how scent can take part in the conversation around wellbeing.
The word wellbeing needs precision when used in perfumery. A scent can be part of a ritual, a mood or a memory, but it is not a substitute for medical care and does not in itself demonstrate a health benefit. Vyrao’s strength lies elsewhere: the brand has long invited people to regard fragrance as an emotional experience, rather than simply an accessory.
The deal does not promise an immediate change in formulas, new launches or a different distribution model; no such plans have been announced publicly. It does, however, change the framework in which Vyrao will grow. The brand now has the backing of a platform with ambitions in health and beauty, while its founder retains the ability to influence its direction.
For collectors and those watching the niche sector, this is a reason to follow something subtler than a rebrand. Vyrao’s next projects will show whether it can expand while holding on to its link with mood, ritual and Sewell’s authorial point of view.
