Silgan’s refill pump gives molded glass more freedom
At LUXE PACK Monaco, Silgan Dispensing introduced Melodie Pirouette SNI 13, a pump designed for reusable fragrance bottles in molded glass. It is aimed at houses seeking to develop refill formats without giving up an expressive, weighty bottle.

In luxury perfumery, a refill often begins not with the formula but with the mechanics: a beautiful bottle must also be convenient to use again. For this, Silgan Dispensing offers Melodie Pirouette SNI 13, a dispensing system for molded glass.
The company presented the new component at LUXE PACK Monaco. Its stated aim is to help fragrance houses extend reusable-packaging lines across a range of molded-glass formats.
For the customer, a pump usually remains an almost invisible detail, yet it determines how cohesive a bottle feels: how it sprays the fragrance, how it sits within the silhouette, and whether a familiar object on the dressing table can be retained when moving to refills. For a brand, it is also an element that must be aligned with design, production and the refilling process.
The direction of development is what matters here. A refill is no longer only a lighter or standardised alternative to the original bottle: the packaging supplier is proposing a solution intended for a broader range of molded-glass formats in the premium segment.
For now, this is the presentation of a component rather than the announcement of a specific fragrance or house already bringing it to market. In the available release, Silgan did not disclose a list of compatible bottles, spray-performance specifications, timelines for adoption by brands, or the terms of refilling. It is therefore too early to judge the practical customer experience.
Still, it is a telling development for the packaging market: refills may become part of a bottle’s original design rather than a separate compromise introduced after launch. If the solution is widely adopted, fragrance houses could more precisely unite the enduring visual identity of a collection with the possibility of reuse.
