Céline Verleure launched Olfactive Studio in Paris in September 2011. A photograph establishes an emotional direction that a perfumer translates into materials, contrast, and development.
Autoportrait, Chambre Noire, and Still Life were the first examples. Personal image, darkness, and a suspended moment create different visual fields, while each scent remains open to the wearer rather than a prescribed gender role.
Begin with the mood of the image and then observe its development on skin. Light may become transparency, shadow may become depth, and movement may become a shift of accents.
