How it feels
Dense ruby light spreads over a dark, matte surface, as though warmth were pushing through a cool mineral layer. Moist earthiness meets a peppery spark, followed by the clean chill of mint and the sharper heat of ginger. The texture then darkens: incense smoke curls into resinous labdanum, while patchouli gives the base a dry, grounded contour. The effect is dynamic rather than seamless, moving from cool tension to an enveloping amber glow.
When to wear
Rouge feels most natural in autumn and winter, though it can also suit a cool spring day. Wear it with a distinctive daytime look, to an evening meeting or whenever a smoky, unconventional scent feels right. It may last from several hours to much of the day, usually projecting around arm’s length.
