How it feels

Imagine clear daylight refracted through overlapping slices of citrus: tangerine and mandarin supply colour, lemon and bergamot the sharper flashes. The brightness then falls across lily-of-the-valley, jasmine and peony, revealing a floral centre that feels fresh rather than dense. Patchouli appears beneath like dark soil at the edge of the frame, and iris lays a pale powdery veil over it. Together they keep the sparkling opening from drifting away.
