Brand story and character
Anna Sui began as an independent New York label in 1981, shaped by urban culture, music, and close study of historic styles without literal imitation.
The first runway presentation took place in 1991, followed by a Greene Street boutique in SoHo in 1992. Seattle grunge and the first menswear direction influenced the spring 1993 collection and helped define the brand's place in 1990s American fashion.
Fragrance and cosmetics launched in 1999. Anna Sui, Sui Dreams, Dolly Girl, Secret Wish, La Vie de Bohème, Romantica, Fantasia, and Wild Wonder carry the same colourful and imaginative authorial language into beauty.
