Dolce & Gabbana

Dolce & Gabbana formed in Milan around the creative partnership of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The group dates its foundation to 1985, following a small studio opened the year before. The designers remained the central source of style while building a wider luxury world.

Sicily, Domenico Dolce's birthplace, provides a lasting cultural lens. Landscapes, craft, carretto siciliano carts, ceramics, puppet theatre, and Mediterranean histories become ways of speaking about family, memory, colour, faith, celebration, and sensual daily life.

The 1987–1988 “La Sicilia” collection introduced black silhouettes and the image of the Sicilian woman. Majolica, painted surfaces, texture, and colour later carried the island's codes from literal motifs into a broader theatrical attitude.

Handwork, materials, and detailed finishing are fundamental, reaching a concentrated expression in Alta Moda in 2012. Luxury is understood as accumulated craft and cultural richness rather than detached status.

Perfume translates this visual world into scent. Velvet links compositions with Italian landscapes, fabric, and olfactory memory, allowing place, light, and decorative depth to continue beyond fashion.

Today the house encompasses fashion, leather goods, shoes, jewellery, watches, and beauty. Since 2023, the group has created, manufactured, and distributed beauty directly, keeping fragrance inside the same creative system.
