Lancôme is the French beauty and perfume brand that has built its identity around Parisian elegance, feminine fragrance, and skincare since 1935. Perfume, makeup, and care place it among the most visible names in luxury beauty.
Brand story and character
Armand Petitjean founded Lancôme in 1935 with fragrance at its centre. The house introduced perfumes in its first year before quickly expanding into skincare and colour cosmetics.
Skincare, makeup, and perfume form one beauty identity rather than separate categories. La vie est belle, Idôle, Trésor, Miracle, Hypnôse, and Absolue Les Parfums are among its best-known olfactory lines.
Lancôme entered the market with several fragrances in 1935 and joined L'Oréal in 1964. International scale did not erase its French identity or perfume emphasis.
Parisian origin, soft femininity, and measured luxury shape the visual and emotional code. Florals, musk, and gourmand notes allow Lancôme to remain both a broad beauty brand and a serious perfume name.
