Diesel is the Italian brand founded by Renzo Rosso in Molvena in 1978. Denim, strong visual identity, and often ironic communication established its reputation before the range expanded into accessories, lifestyle projects, and fragrance.
Brand story and character
Renzo Rosso set out to create innovative denim and chose Diesel as an international word that was easy to understand across markets. Product, lifestyle, attitude, and visual communication therefore developed together from the outset.
Diesel is now part of OTB Group and operates as an international lifestyle company. Denim remains the foundation for accessories and collaborations without limiting the wider identity.
Provocative, ironic, and socially engaged campaigns have made Diesel visible far beyond clothing. Communication is not decoration but a central expression of its contemporary point of view.
Fragrance carries the same attitude through early releases, the L'Oréal-licensed line, Fuel For Life, and D by Diesel, introduced as the brand's first gender-fluid fragrance. Denim, fashion, communication, and scent consequently form one recognisable system.
