Revillon
Revillon is the historic French brand rooted in Revillon Frères, Parisian luxury, and a long transition from fur to perfume. International expansion, corporate change, and several notable twentieth-century fragrances shape its story.
Brand story and character
Louis-Victor Revillon acquired Maison Givelet in 1839 and renamed it Revillon Frères. London followed in 1869 and New York in 1878, making the company an international name in fur and luxury.
Perfume became part of the house during the twentieth century. Releases from the 1930s include names such as Égoïste, Latitude 50, Tornade or Amou-Daria, Carnet de Bal, Bibelot, Cantilène, Anouchka, Detchema, and French Line.
Cora acquired the company in 1982. Fur and ready-to-wear later passed to Yves Salomon, while SAS Revillon focused on perfume, cosmetics, makeup, and eyewear. Detchema was reissued in 2012.
Revillon consequently carries two memories: French fur luxury and an archival perfume identity. Dates, reissues, and surviving names give it a calm, old-world, and distinctly French profile.
