100 Bon
100BON is a French fragrance house created by Christophe Bombana in 2017. The brand combines the work of guest perfumers with formulas stated to contain at least 90 percent ingredients of natural origin, French production, and refillable bottles. Its idea is to concentrate value in the fragrance itself rather than decorative excess.
Brand story and character
Christophe Bombana came to his own project after a long career with major houses in the beauty industry. In 2017, he created 100BON as an alternative to a model in which much of the attention and cost belongs to everything surrounding a fragrance. Accessibility, clarity, and a return to the composition itself are central to the brand's story, without rejecting the French perfume tradition.
The house works not with one in-house author but with guest perfumers from different generations and with different styles. The participants named by the brand include Celine Ellena, Jean-Claude Ellena, Karine Vinchon, Amandine Galliano, Margaux Le Paih Guerin, and Serge de Oliveira. This format explains the breadth of the catalogue: a shared approach to materials and packaging remains, while the compositional language depends on the individual author.
The natural origin of ingredients is a measurable part of the brand's position. 100BON states that its fragrances contain at least 90 percent such ingredients, with some concentrates reaching 100 percent; wheat alcohol provides the base. The house also reports working with Robertet and its Seed to Scent system, which links cultivation of the plant to the finished fragrance formula. These figures concern ingredient origin and do not mean a complete absence of synthetic molecules.
The fragrances are developed in Grasse and made in France. The catalogue includes eaux de toilette, eaux de parfum, and intense eaux de parfum; the stated concentration for the last category is 20 percent. Bottles are designed to be refilled, while sample sets allow customers to compare concentrations before buying a full size. The environmental idea therefore appears not only in the formula but also in the repeated use of packaging.
Ambre & Tonka was created by Jean-Claude and Celine Ellena. Mandarin opens the composition, labdanum and geranium leaves form its centre, while tonka bean and vanilla provide the base's gentle sweetness. The authors work with a classic amber structure but turn it towards a brighter, more immediate expression. It is an eau de parfum with a stated 91.89 percent of ingredients of natural origin.
Karine Vinchon's Bois & Poudre shows a more airy woody-powdery profile. Bergamot and almond lead to jasmine sambac and orange blossom, while cedarwood, sandalwood, patchouli, and musk form a calm base. Serge de Oliveira's Zeste d'Agrumes moves differently: bitter orange, mandarin, and lemon meet rose, basil, and geranium, followed by woody amber, sandalwood, tonka, and cedarwood.
These three works explain 100BON more accurately than the single word natural. Ambre & Tonka centres on amber depth and vanilla softness, Bois & Poudre balances white flowers, woods, and powder, and Zeste d'Agrumes brings citrus and herbs into focus. Clear perfumer attribution, French production, and refillability connect them; the character of each composition should guide the final choice.
