Afnan

Afnan was founded by Imran Fazlani in the United Arab Emirates in 2007. The company's early development relied on direct retail and close contact with customers. This model grew into an international fragrance house now present in more than 120 countries. Afnan therefore began not as a licensed project or a fashion division, but as an independent fragrance business.

Imran Fazlani remains the company's founder and chairman. His remit includes long-term strategic and creative leadership, vertical integration, quality control, and product consistency. Zaid Fazlani serves as CEO; his role belongs to the company's current phase, in which the brand brings together marketing, international reach, and operational structure.

Afnan's manufacturing model helps explain the scale of this approach. Its own facility in the UAE gives the company control over formulation, production, and quality assurance. Development is not separated from manufacturing by an external licence: the fragrance idea, testing, and finished product form one system. This vertically organised structure supports several collections and formats at once, including eau de parfum, extrait, and concentrated oils.

The Afnan catalogue is organised as a set of distinct lines. It includes 9AM/9PM, Supremacy, Bouquet, Historic, Turathi, and Edict, alongside other collections. These names do not denote one shared olfactory style: each family develops its own theme, while larger lines contain versions intended for different settings and audiences.

9 PM represents the brand's sweet and spicy side. Bergamot, lavandin, cinnamon, and apple appear in the opening; lily of the valley and orange blossom form the heart; patchouli, amber, vanilla, and tonka bean shape the base. The contrast between fresh citrus and apple, spices, and a sweet base establishes a clear compositional axis, but it belongs specifically to 9 PM rather than to the entire Afnan collection.

Supremacy Not Only Intense offers a different set of materials. Bergamot, apple, and blackcurrant lead to lavender, patchouli, and oakmoss, followed by saffron, musk, and ambergris in the base. Here a fruity opening meets a mossy, spicy-musky development. A comparison with 9 PM shows how Afnan distinguishes its lines by character instead of repeating the same structure.
