Aramis

Aramis is a men's fragrance brand created by Estée Lauder in 1963. It became the first American prestige fragrance brand for men and developed not only a cologne but an entire grooming system. In 2025, the woody green neo-fougère Intuition opened a new chapter in its history.

Brand story and character

Estée Lauder created Aramis in 1963 with the intention of offering an elegant men's cologne. The brand entered the history of The Estée Lauder Companies as the first American prestige fragrance for men. The corporate account also emphasises its wider scale: Aramis became the first prestige men's fragrance sold in department stores around the world.

From the outset, the project extended beyond a single bottle. A twenty-product plan was developed for men's grooming. This approach made fragrance part of a sequential ritual and distinguished Aramis from a model in which a fashion name is limited to one seasonal release.

Six decades later, The Estée Lauder Companies introduced Intuition as a renewal of the brand for a new generation. It was announced in May 2025, with an international launch scheduled for August. The composition is described as a woody green neo-fougère—a contemporary interpretation of fougère structure rather than a simple reissue of the historical Aramis.

Dwyane Wade became the global ambassador for Intuition. The campaign connected the fragrance with a view of masculinity in which strength coexists with sensitivity, and intelligence with emotional awareness. This is the advertising framework of a particular launch, not a description of every earlier composition by the brand.

The history of Aramis clearly documents the brand's creation, its position in men's prestige fragrance, and the arrival of Intuition. The corporate pages do not name the perfumer behind the original scent or provide a complete record of the launches in between. The two points, 1963 and 2025, therefore show the beginning and the current renewal without replacing a full collection chronology.
