Baldessarini

Baldessarini is a German men's luxury brand created by Hugo Boss AG and named after Werner Baldessarini. Its history groups 1993 and 1994 together, so the date is more accurately expressed as a range. The fragrance direction began in 2002 with Baldessarini Eau de Cologne.

Brand story and character

Hugo Boss AG created Baldessarini as a separate men's luxury brand and named it after Werner Baldessarini. The corporate history combines 1993 and 1994 in a single milestone, making it impossible to select only one year with confidence. The distinction matters: Werner gave the brand its name and creative figure, while Hugo Boss was the founder in the legal sense.

The first fragrance, Baldessarini Eau de Cologne, appeared in 2002. Perfumery therefore joined an existing fashion identity rather than becoming the brand's point of origin. The public history does not name the perfumer, so the date and status of the first release are better documented than its creative attribution.

The brand was sold to Ahlers AG in 2006. The next major change came in 2023, when R.Brand Group acquired significant Ahlers assets, including New Baldessarini GmbH. These events concern ownership of the fashion business and cannot automatically be treated as dates when the fragrance licensee changed.

The company separately identifies Mäurer & Wirtz as its fragrance partner. This confirms a licensing relationship but does not disclose its complete contractual terms or start date. In the fragrance history, it is important not to confuse the owner of the brand with the company responsible for the licensed category.

The current Collection comprises the extracts Oriental Rose, Royal Cashmere, Mystic Leather, Golden Honey, and Noble Olibanum. All five are presented as Extrait de Parfum and form a distinct series separate from the first Eau de Cologne. The collection pages do not name the perfumers, so this list records the structure of the current offering without unsupported attribution.
