Betty Barclay
Betty Barclay is a German women's fashion brand whose image has centred on modern, gently feminine everyday style since the mid-twentieth century. Its fragrances, produced under licence by Mäurer & Wirtz, continue that character in a light, romantic, and comfortable register.
Brand story and character
Betty Barclay was established in Germany in 1955, when Max Berk acquired the European rights to the name and founded a business in Heidelberg. The label developed around approachable and composed women's clothing, later becoming a recognised name in Germany's mid-market fashion sector. Fragrance extends this fashion identity in a softer and more emotional form.
Mäurer & Wirtz associates the perfumes with romance, femininity, playfulness, and carefully considered packaging. The licensing relationship dates at least to 1992, and the range has since included Blush, Soulgarden, Pure Flower, Even You, Happiness, Wild Flower, Dream Away, Pure Sun, and lighter Body & Hair Splash formats. Together they reflect a consistent preference for friendly, feminine compositions designed to accompany everyday dress rather than overpower it.
