Chevignon

Chevignon emerged in France in 1979 from Guy Azoulay's fascination with American flight jackets and military vintage. In 1984, the TOG's Unlimited label with its embroidered mallard established themes of freedom, wide-open spaces, and outdoor culture. Groupe Bogart continues these motifs in fragrance, translating the clothing archive into woody, spicy, and fresh compositions.

Brand story and character

Chevignon's history begins with a single jacket. Guy Azoulay collected American military vintage and reinterpreted the flight jackets of 1950s pilots for his first collection. In 1979, a French brand formed around this approach, combining the durability of workwear, the patina of worn leather, and an urban view of the American dream.

TOG's Unlimited, a label marked by an embroidered mallard, appeared in 1984. The migratory bird represented freedom, wide-open spaces, and outdoor sports, while the down jacket became one of Chevignon's recognizable pieces. More than an emblem, it expressed a principle: clothing should look as if it already has a history and is ready to accompany its wearer further.

Chevignon expanded into new categories through licenses during the 1990s. Groupe Bogart dates the brand's first fragrance to 1991 and treats it as the beginning of an international perfume line. The clothing language of leather, woods, long routes, and the American West thus acquired an olfactory form. Today, Chevignon Parfums appears in the portfolio and distribution of Parfums Jacques Bogart.

For Chevignon's fortieth anniversary, the TOG's Unlimited image returned in a perfume duo. An industry report from TFWA 2019 describes the bottles as two directions from one archive: amber Togs Unlimited is associated with dry spaces and reddish earth, while white Togs Unlimited White suggests Californian freshness, water, and light.

Togs Unlimited opens with lavender, violet leaf, and bergamot. This cool aromatic start moves toward cinnamon and then woods and amber. The pyramid is compact, so its character comes not from the number of materials but from a shift in temperature: green floral coolness gives way to dry spice and a warm amber-wood base.

No separate current operator page for the amber Togs Unlimited appears in the present storefront, so its description relies on the industry launch report. The formula perfumer is not named in this editorial profile: reference databases provide a name, but available primary pages do not confirm it. This boundary preserves the distinction between a documented composition and an unverified personal attribution.

Togs Unlimited White works in a luminous aquatic-aromatic register. Water notes, bergamot, and thyme create an energetic opening; lavender, marine facets, and a tea accord form the heart. Vetiver meets ambergris and tonka bean in the base. Mineral dryness keeps the freshness from turning sweet, while tonka gently rounds the finish.

The duo presents two versions of TOG's Unlimited heritage. The amber bottle chooses lavender, violet, cinnamon, woods, and amber; the white one uses water, citrus, thyme, tea, vetiver, and a mineral base. Both continue the themes of freedom and open space at different temperatures: one recalls sun-warmed earth, the other cool air beside water.
