Brand story and character
Coach began as a small New York leather workshop in 1941, initially making wallets and other compact leather goods before moving into handbags and a wider accessories range. Material, form, and daily use therefore preceded decoration in its identity.
Miles and Lillian Cahn helped turn the small operation into a developed fashion business during the second half of the twentieth century. Durable leather, precise hardware, practical detail, and a composed urban silhouette became its defining language.
Today Coach presents itself as a New York modern luxury brand within Tapestry. Leather, clear construction, and youthful city energy allow classic design to move with a freer contemporary rhythm.
