ELLA K founder Sonia Constant is presented by the house as a master perfumer. The name belongs to an imaginary heroine rather than a direct self-portrait of the creator, separating the author’s biography from the literary figure of the collection.

The travellers Ella Maillart, Karen Blixen, and Alexandra David-Néel are named among its inspirations. Their routes form the cultural background of the house: travel is treated not as decorative geography but as a way to preserve a lived moment in scent.

ELLA K describes its fragrances as olfactory memories of moments experienced around the world. This idea connects the catalogue without making its compositions identical; each requires its own pyramid and reading.

The dragonfly emblem was designed by Japanese artist Senjiro Nakata. The house interprets it as a symbol of metamorphosis, evolution, and courage. The bottle’s minimalist geometry, meanwhile, is inspired by the simple shape of a camera, an instrument for recording travel.

Musc K opens with sand lily and pink pepper. Cedarwood and orris appear in the heart, while musk and Haitian vetiver form the base. The pyramid moves from a dry floral-spiced opening into a woody-powdery centre and a musky vetiver foundation.
