Escentric Molecules
Escentric Molecules placed the molecular idea at the centre of its identity. Founded in London in 2006, the niche brand explores Iso E Super, minimalism, and the interaction between scent and skin.
Brand story and character
Escentric Molecules challenged the familiar perfume pyramid by bringing a single aroma molecule to the foreground. The project reconsiders the foundation of composition rather than rejecting perfumery itself.
Geza Schoen and Paul White co-founded the brand in London in 2006. Its first pair established the format developed over the following 20 years: Molecule isolates a material, while Escentric builds a wider composition around it.
Molecule 01 consists entirely of Iso E Super, a material with a soft, woody, skin-like effect that varies with the wearer. Fragrance remains close to the natural smell of skin rather than covering it.
Geza Schoen's earlier work included Diesel, Ormonde Jayne, FCUK, and Boudicca. Experiment, concision, and an interest in unconventional perfume logic shaped his approach to the brand.
Molecule and Escentric remain the central axes, joined by Cologne One and body care. A strong single idea, rather than a dense narrative, continues to define the house.
