Floraïku Paris

Clara and John Molloy founded Floraïku Paris in 2017 after travelling to Japan. The name combines Flora and Haiku, while the collections translate this idea into themes of tea, flowers, and incense. Shadowing forms a separate system with two fragrances designed to accompany other compositions from the house.

Brand story and character

Clara and John Molloy founded Floraïku Paris in 2017. The idea for the new house arose after a journey to Japan. The founders already had experience of creating a perfume brand: Memo Paris began in 2007. These dates distinguish two independent projects and do not make Floraïku a simple renaming of the earlier brand.

The name Floraïku brings together two words and two images, Flora and Haiku. The first connects the brand with nature; the second refers to the three-line Japanese poetic form. The name establishes a way of organising the collection: a concise image and a cultural association frame each fragrance without replacing its individual formula.

Three principal groups centre on tea, flowers, and incense. The house relates them to the tea ceremony, ikebana, and kōdō, the art of appreciating incense. They are three thematic directions rather than a single olfactory pyramid, and every release within them requires its own reading.

Floraïku Paris also develops the Shadowing system. It consists of Sleeping On The Roof and Between Two Trees. These two fragrances are intended to be worn beside another Floraïku composition in order to alter its perception. Shadowing therefore describes a method of combination, not a promise of a universal result with every scent.

The Moon And I offers a specific example of the tea direction. Its key references are maté, matcha extract, and cedar, and it is presented as a rich, smoky black-tea scent. This description belongs to one release and cannot automatically characterise every fragrance in the tea group.

Maté and matcha bring different facets of the tea theme, while cedar adds a woody coordinate. A list of three materials cannot fully describe pace, longevity, or projection. Those qualities need to be assessed in the composition itself.

Floraïku Paris offers two different starting points. The Moon And I explores smoky black tea through maté, matcha, and cedar. Shadowing provides another experience: Sleeping On The Roof or Between Two Trees is worn beside a chosen fragrance from the house so that you can compare how its character changes.
