Brand story and character
Issey Miyake founded Miyake Design Studio in Tokyo in 1970 after studying and working abroad. The brand developed as a research-led design environment in which form, material, and movement formed one system.
Function and expression coexist through fabric, construction, and freedom of movement. Pleats Please, A-POC, and Homme Plissé turned technology into recognisable style through an almost engineering precision.
L'Eau d'Issey appeared in 1992 and established a luminous, composed, and water-inspired perfume identity. Later feminine and masculine variations broadened the idea while retaining clarity.
