Jacomo
Jacomo is the French perfume house founded by Gérard Courtin in 1970. Its story grew from a New York meeting in 1961 through Paris, Grasse, and Deauville, while J de Jacomo now continues the archive in contemporary form.
Brand story and character
The name Jacomo grew from a 1961 meeting in New York between James Kaplan and Gérard Courtin. Courtin returned to France in 1965 to develop perfume and opened a studio on Avenue George V in Paris in 1970, establishing Jacomo Paris.
Parisian atmosphere, the expertise of Grasse perfumers, and production in Deauville, Normandy, connect place, craft, and continuity. Compositions, bottles, and presentation form what Jacomo calls a style of its own.
Eau Cendrée, Chicane, Silences, Jacomo de Jacomo, and Parfum Rare established the early language. A feminine Paradox appeared in 1998 and a masculine counterpart in 1999, broadening its woody, floral, oriental, and aromatic directions.
The house introduced clothing in 1987 and presented J de Jacomo in 2024 as a modern continuation of its heritage. Historical memory and contemporary interpretation consequently remain in motion.
