Brand story and character

Jacques Fath opened his Paris fashion house in 1937. Couture, the city, and silhouette formed a recognisable style in which character mattered as much as form.

The first perfume chapter began with Chasuble in 1945, followed by Green Water and Iris Gris. Couture fluidity, formal clarity, and French elegance acquired an independent olfactory expression.

The house's confident and lightly theatrical fashion translated into fragrance through gesture, line, air, and composure rather than as a late licensing exercise.

After the founder's death in 1954, the name passed through several reinterpretations. Panouge Group has developed Jacques Fath since 2008 as a Parisian niche house that revisits heritage without living only in the past.

Iris Gris remains a central myth alongside Green Water. Fath's Essentials and new interpretations by contemporary perfumers preserve continuity without depending on a single archival formula.

The Avenue Victor Hugo flagship connects couture biography, Parisian memory, and current perfume. The house remains Parisian in origin, couture-led in tone, and contemporary in the form of its continuation.
