Romano Ricci launched Juliette Has a Gun in 2006 to challenge the highly codified world of niche perfume. The “gun” is not literal but a metaphor for fragrance as a means of expression, distance, seduction, and self-possession. Shakespeare's Juliette enters the present with freedom to act. Paris brings an urban heroine and Grasse the culture of material and composition. Elegant, modern, romantic, occasionally masculine, commanding, playful, or independent qualities coexist without defining one fixed femininity.
