Memo Paris
Clara and John Molloy founded Memo Paris in 2007. Its Travel Notes turn journeys into compositions where place meets memory, material, and emotion. Each route becomes a separate olfactory landscape rather than a literal geographic account.
Brand story and character
Memo Paris was founded in 2007 by Clara Molloy, a Parisian of Catalan origin and a poet, and her Irish husband John, a traveller and sportsman. Language, literary sensitivity, and experience of the road meet at the foundation of the house. Memo suggests memory, souvenir, and sillage: recollection returns through details, while a scent develops in time and accompanies movement. The house calls its perfumes Travel Notes, subjective records that select a landscape, plant, material, colour, or encounter rather than trying to describe an entire culture. Its Carte de Tendre creates an emotional map where distances matter less than transitions between light and shade, morning and evening, nature and city. Lalibela became the first direction and was released in 2008, with Aliénor Massenet using rose and myrrh around an image of the Ethiopian rock-hewn site. Memo works with different perfumers within a shared imaginative world of travel, memory, strong materials, and landscape. Artists give each route a visual environment, while solar yellow provides a connecting house colour. Leather appears prominently in Cuirs Nomades but remains one direction within a wider map. Since 2007, Memo Paris has treated travel as a form of memory, producing an open atlas of personal experiences rather than a geographic guide.
