Mexx
Mexx is a Dutch fashion brand created in 1986 by bringing the menswear label Moustache and womenswear label Emanuelle together. Casual urban style later expanded into clothes, shoes, accessories, and fragrance.
Brand story and character
Rattan Chadha built Mexx by joining Moustache and Emanuelle, with the XX in the name symbolising two kisses. The merger created one modern and recognisable urban image for women and men.
International retail and lifestyle expansion brought childrenswear, footwear, bags, eyewear, home products, and fragrance into the brand world.
Reference catalogues record Mexx perfumes from at least 1996. Mexx Classics, XX Collection, Black, and Life Is Now show fragrance as a continuing category rather than a one-off addition.
Ownership changed over time through Liz Claiborne, The Gores Group, Eroğlu Holding, RNF Group, and HVEG Fashion Group.
Mexx remains grounded in accessible modernity, a relaxed urban rhythm, and a lifestyle identity designed for everyday use rather than exclusivity.
