Mona di Orio
Mona di Orio is a niche perfume house associated with the French perfumer of the same name and co-founder Jeroen Oude Sogtoen. Founded in 2004, it released its first fragrances in 2006 and developed as an independent brand with a Dutch base.
Brand story and character
Mona di Orio holds a lasting place in niche perfumery through classical training, exact construction, and careful proportion. The Annecy-born perfumer studied with Edmond Roudnitska in Cabris near Grasse, giving craft and balance a central role.
Mona di Orio and Jeroen Oude Sogtoen founded the house in 2004. Its connection with Amsterdam and the Netherlands brought a Dutch base together with a French compositional education.
The first fragrances appeared in 2006, including Lux, Carnation, Nuit Noire, Oiro, Amyitis, and Chamarre. Later series included Les Nombres D'Or, Monogram Collection, and The Alinea Collection.
After Mona di Orio's death in 2011, Jeroen Oude Sogtoen continued the house. Eau Absolue, Violette Fumée, and later additions kept the catalogue active.
Mona di Orio is a comparatively young but coherent perfume house with an identifiable authorial line, French craft context, and several distinct collection periods.
