Mugler
Mugler is the French house created by Manfred Thierry Mugler in 1974. Fashion, photography, cinema, stagecraft, and perfume form one fantastic world. Angel appeared in 1992 and Alien in 2005.
Brand story and character
Manfred Thierry Mugler created his house in 1974 as a multidisciplinary visual world in which clothing, silhouette, image, bottle, and scent support one dramatic gesture. Freedom of expression, exaggerated sensuality, sculptural bodies, theatrical colour, and invention define an aesthetic far from neutrality. Angel translated that scale into perfume in 1992 through patchouli, praline, red berries, and vanilla, helping establish the amber-gourmand direction.
Its star-shaped bottle and the Mugler Fountain introduced a refillable relationship with the object in the same year. Alien followed in 2005 with white flowers, the imagery of inner power, and a bottle conceived as a precious talisman. Different in character, Angel and Alien share a system in which name, composition, colour, and sculptural form create an unmistakable figure.
Contemporary interpretations and refillable bottles continue this logic. Mugler perfume does not disappear into the background: trail, emotional intensity, and design turn scent into an avant-garde silhouette and a complete imagined world.
