Parfums de Marly
Julien Sprecher founded Parfums de Marly in 2009. Château de Marly, eighteenth-century culture, and the Marly horses provide historical images, while modern compositions use them as creative material rather than literal reconstruction.
Brand story and character
Parfums de Marly is a contemporary French perfume house founded by Julien Sprecher in 2009. Its identity distinguishes the twenty-first-century brand from its principal historical source: Château de Marly and the culture of the French eighteenth century. Marly was a more private royal setting than Versailles, and the house uses that image of relative freedom, movement, ceremony, and craft without pretending to be an inherited historic maison.
The paired horses in its emblem refer to Guillaume Coustou's Marly sculptures, commissioned by Louis XV in 1743, and support ideas of strength, motion, and controlled form. Traditional perfume culture sits beside modern extraction, ingredient reuse, and green chemistry. History provides scale and imagery, while density, temperature, rhythm, and trail belong to each present-day composition.
