Trussardi
Trussardi began in Bergamo in 1911 as a leather-glove workshop. Leather, precision, and restrained expression became its original language. Fragrance now acts as an invisible but significant finishing layer for clothing and accessories.
Brand story and character
Dante Trussardi founded a leather-glove workshop in Bergamo in 1911. Fit, leather treatment, and the maker's skill established an approach to proportion, touch, and durability that later shaped the whole house. Nicola Trussardi took leadership during the 1970s, expanding the workshop into a Maison with bags, scarves, accessories, ready-to-wear, and a Milan boutique on via Sant’Andrea.
The greyhound emblem appeared in 1975 as a symbol of speed, elegance, and controlled movement. During the 1980s and 1990s, shows in major Milan spaces and projects involving transport, music, and urban culture broadened Trussardi beyond evening dress. Fragrance entered naturally as the final invisible layer of an image. Contemporary woody spicy, floral, aquatic, and amber directions do not share one literal leather accord; they share an approach to composition as a personal accessory. Trussardi therefore carries material discipline and Italian restraint from glove-making into fashion, design, and scent.
