Victoria's Secret
Victoria's Secret is an American brand that grew from lingerie retail into a broad fashion and beauty business. Today, intimates and sleepwear sit alongside prestige fragrances and body care as parts of one recognisable identity.
Brand story and character
Victoria's Secret was founded by Roy Raymond in Palo Alto, California, in 1977, with the aim of making lingerie shopping less awkward and more aesthetically considered. Leslie Wexner acquired the business in 1982 and expanded it into a major name in American fashion retail.
Beauty became an established part of Victoria's Secret during the 1990s. Fragrance and cosmetics joined underwear, sleepwear, swim and sportswear, turning the label into a broader lifestyle brand with a powerful visual code.
In 2021, Victoria's Secret became the independent Victoria's Secret & Co. The company describes a modern specialty retailer spanning fashion-led intimates, lingerie, sleepwear, athleisure, prestige fragrance and body care. Bombshell, Bare, Tease, Very Sexy, Dream and Love confirm fragrance as a central part of its present identity.
