Brand story and character

Ghost is a British contemporary womenswear house founded by Tanya Sarne in 1984. The label associates itself with a feminine aesthetic, modern silhouettes, and garments dyed after construction. These qualities describe its fashion practice rather than providing a ready-made perfume profile.

Ghost fabrics are produced for the label from viscose yarn. A garment-dye process and washing after construction give them a silk-like texture while retaining machine washability. This technique explains one of the fashion house's distinctive practices.

The fragrance story began in 2000 with Ghost the Fragrance. In 2020, marking twenty years of perfume, the portfolio was reported to contain more than 25 scents. Sweetheart, Deep Night, and Purity were among the named releases; they describe the portfolio at that point, not a complete current catalogue.

Ghost Fragrances calls itself a vegan brand and states that its fragrances are Vegan Society approved and contain no animal-derived ingredients. It also says that it does not test products on animals. These are the brand's statements about its current policy.

New refillable bottles use a crescent shape. Their caps are fully recyclable and contain 30% post-consumer recycled plastic. The percentage applies specifically to the cap and does not describe the recycled content of the entire package.
