Gianfranco Ferré

The Gianfranco Ferré label was founded in 1978. Entrepreneur Franco Mattioli became the designer's partner, and the new company's first notable point was a women's ready-to-wear collection. This date establishes the beginning of the fashion house, not of its fragrance activity.

The first Gianfranco Ferré women's fragrance appeared in 1984. Its description combines white flowers with green lily of the valley. This concise archival characterisation belongs to the original release and cannot establish possible later changes to its formula.

The first men's fragrance followed in 1986. It was presented as an aromatic woody composition with an opening citrus accord. The 1984 women's release and the 1986 men's release are separate starting points and should not be merged into one general scent profile for the label.

Diana De Silva Cosmétiques produced the fragrances until 2002, after which the activity passed to ITF. This sequence documents a historical change of operator. It does not establish that ITF remains the current licensee.

The company archive covers the period from the 1978 foundation until Gianfranco Ferré's death in June 2007. This boundary describes the historical material collected there and does not mean that the label or its fragrance activity ended on that date.
