Histoires de Parfums describes itself as an olfactory library devoted to celebrated figures, remarkable years, poetry, and music. Founded by Gérald Ghislain, it treats cultural imagery as an integral part of composition.

Dates, En Aparté, This Is Not a Blue Bottle, Three Golds, and Timeless Classics each organise fragrance around a distinct idea. By 2008 the series named after the birth years of notable figures had attracted attention, while The Scent of Departure explored cities and travel in 2012.

The house maintains a Paris flagship at 11 rue du Roi Doré and produces in France. Literary temperament, memory, character, and place give each launch the form of an individual chapter.
