Lattafa
Lattafa is a family fragrance business from the United Arab Emirates, now run by the family's third generation. The company combines Emirati heritage with in-house fragrance development and manufacturing. Its scale is defined not by a single composition or genre, but by a broad catalogue and a presence in more than 120 countries.
Brand story and character
Lattafa describes itself as a family business rooted in Emirati heritage and now in its third generation. This establishes continuity, but does not support assigning the brand a precise foundation date or a named creator: its own history does not provide either detail. The firm points instead to a different starting point—its origin in the UAE and a family-led model maintained as the business has expanded internationally.
Lattafa is now present in more than 120 countries, and its team numbers over 3000 people. Its portfolio comprises more than 2000 products, ranging from mass-market offerings to luxury collections. Those figures help explain the catalogue: this is not a small line centred on a single creative signature, but a large fragrance system encompassing different price levels, genres, and visual directions.
A significant part of this system remains within the company. Lattafa controls product creation and design, research and development, and in-house manufacturing. The bottle, presentation, fragrance concept, and release are therefore connected within one process. Alongside its core range, the catalogue identifies distinct directions including Niche Emarati, while personal care, home care, and gift sets extend the brand beyond the conventional perfume bottle.
Yara, Asad, and Khamrah offer a clear view of Lattafa's range. Released in 2020, Yara is a women's amber-vanilla composition. It combines mandarin, heliotrope, and orchid with tropical and gourmand accords, followed by vanilla, sandalwood, and musk. This is a soft, sweet direction, but its structure should not be treated as a formula for the brand as a whole.
Released in 2021, Asad represents a men's amber direction with a different construction. Black pepper, pineapple, and tobacco open the composition; coffee, iris, and patchouli form the heart, while amber, vanilla, dry woods, benzoin, and labdanum appear in the base. Compared with Yara, its vocabulary is spicier, darker, and more woody-resinous.
Khamrah appeared in 2022 as a spicy fragrance for women and men. Bergamot, cinnamon, and nutmeg lead to a date accord, lily of the valley, praline, and tuberose; roasted tonka bean, benzoin, myrrh, Akigalawood, vanilla, and amber woods form the base. It develops a gourmand theme differently from Yara, using spices, resins, and dense sweetness.
These three successive releases do not exhaust the catalogue, but they provide an intelligible cross-section. Yara, Asad, and Khamrah differ in audience, materials, and fragrance genre, so Lattafa cannot be reduced to oriental sweetness or one recognisable accord. The brand's identity emerges from Emirati family continuity, an internal production cycle, and the ability to sustain several fragrance directions at once.
