Dorin
Dorin is a French perfume house with a long historical memory. Its identity connects Paris and Versailles with the middle of the 18th century, giving the contemporary collection a distinctive cultural foundation.
Brand story and character
Dorin's historical outline begins in Paris during the second half of the 18th century. The story includes premises on rue Grenier Saint-Lazare, Mademoiselle Montansier, and the appointment by Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI as supplier to the court of Versailles in 1780 for the quality of its powders and rouge.
Jean-Marie Dorin acquired the house and gave it his name in 1819. Hector Monin expanded it into European and American markets from 1884, followed by Un Air de Paris in 1886, La Dorine in 1893, and a revival under France Excellence in 1998.
Les Classiques, Senteurs de Versailles, Les Dorines, Les Eaux Poudrées, Parfums d'Orient, Dorin d'Or, La Collection Privée, Art Gallery by Dorin, and Dorin Hair Perfume interpret the same historical code through several distinct styles.
Products and fragrances are made by hand in Gennes, in the Pays de la Loire, with French perfumers. Historical origin, contemporary collection building, and French savoir-faire therefore remain closely connected.
