Keiko Mecheri is the niche perfume brand founded by Keiko Mecheri and her partner in 1997. Early candles and home scent developed into a fragrance house linking California, the founder's Japanese background, and compositions made in Grasse.
Brand story and character
Keiko Mecheri began in 1997 as an authorial project in which the founder's biography and artistic view of scent were closely connected. Candles and home fragrance preceded the later focus on perfume.
A studio on Sunset Boulevard and a current relationship with Beverly Hills establish its Southern California setting. Japan, California, and Grasse act as cultural reference points, balancing tradition with modernity and intimacy with expression.
The fragrances are created in Grasse from ingredients sourced internationally. The house describes more than 60 creations, while the wider catalogue records 81, demonstrating a developed line rather than a handful of occasional releases.
Compositional precision, gentle exoticism, and considered bottle design define a calm artistic niche style with a Japanese context and a clear Californian authorial signature.
