Caron is a French perfume house founded by Ernest Daltroff in 1904. Its Parisian history encompasses early experiments with scented powder and a succession of bold, distinctive compositions.
Brand story and character
Caron began in 1904 through the partnership of Ernest Daltroff and Félicie Wanpouille. He created fragrance while she helped shape the bottles and presentation, establishing an early preference for expressive contrasts rather than neutrality.
Narcisse Noir, N'Aimez que Moi, Tabac Blond, En Avion, Fleurs de Rocaille, and Pour Un Homme de CARON reveal a consistent authorial identity. Narcisse Noir brought early success, while Pour Un Homme de CARON marked an important moment in masculine perfumery in 1934.
Scented powder is another important part of the heritage. Pompon Poudre appeared in 1908, connecting texture, bottle design, fragrance, and historical memory within one aesthetic world.
Cattleya Finance SA acquired Caron at the end of 2018. The contemporary house nevertheless emphasises its archive and French presence, keeping classics and modern interpretations in a continuous line.
